The Kitchen, my house, Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur

I didn't had the right tools for the job. So here is the ingredients for this.

- 1x table light (tungsten bulb)
- 1x electric blue transparent paper
- Canon EF 17-40mm f/4 USM L
- Manfrotto 055 PRO B
- Manfrotto 488RC2 Ball Head
- Flash On

This is my very first attempt taking still life with frozen water shots. Kind of wet my camera, but it was worth it! Shot in a kitchen basin, I couldn't afford a studio unit with fancy lightings. And this is all I have, but i'm looking forward to do something a lot more better then this  ... :)

Wow, the colours came out fantastic and the clarity amazing. How did you get the water looking so sharp at a 1 second shutter speed?

The chaos in this piece certainly makes it unique amongst other still water shots in my opinion, your lack of 'perfect' tools as it would seem probably gave way to this great result. This chaos seems to have constructed a landscape of sorts - an abstract mess open to interpretation, yet held together with a somehow working composition. Clever, even if it is partly accidental.

A few things you could work on though: Typography seems to be blotched out a little by the photograph itself, sort looks conflicting/unfinished in that respect. Also seems a little over sharpened just above the text too.

Otherwise though, this is a great shot, so chaotic - yet still, all the action really emphasises the whole point of capturing running water in still photography, its almost as if the water is still running!

:)
