This photo upsets me when it comes to quality. My camera seems to have some problems, there are so-called "dead pixels", quoted by Canon today. They said they had never seen or came across anything like this serious. It's strange, sharp little white and RGB saturated running all over.

I didn't realize about it until yesterday. The problem is that, the multimedia storage previewer (Epson P2000) that I bought couldn't zoom in when it's a RAW file. And I thought it was all good. I don't think it was dead pixels, because it was very unstable and it goes all over. It's pretty eccentric and a rare case. I was the first ever person who issued this report to the local Canon service center.

It totaled my photo and I had no idea how to fix it since it was so visible and sharp. There are probably a more then a few thousand, like noise. But it isn't.

Anyways, I wanted to submit another landscape format, but it is very difficult for me to accept this case. My damn camera failed me for the first ever time.

This photo took me about more then an hour to compose. I had shot a variation of more then 6 different exposures and compositions. It took a long while, but worth the effort to wait.

We checked in pretty late, and it was almost twelve in the night. If I could remember, it was around eleven something. We were all pretty exhausted after a whole day of driving. But my friend, Izzat, wanted to check out the turtles which Rantau Abang is well known for it's nesting place. We stayed at a chalet facing the sea which between it was a river. Pretty interesting to see the segregation of different elements.

Not to mention it was pitch black outside. But it was fortunate that four of us only brought one torch light and the other used their built in stable flash cellphones. I didn't had any external light source with me.

It was very dark, very very dark. If you look behind, you couldn't even see anyything. Which really freaks me out. We walked to the beach, just a few distance from our guest house. When we reached the beach, it was so beautiful, I find it very difficult to explain this. First of all, you can see lights on the horizon, dedicated by the fishermen's boats. Then there is the moon. It was bloody gorgeous, and red. I mean really red. It was sitting at the edge of the horizon too. Just about and inch higher from my eyesight. I never seen anything quite like it. The scenery was unexplainable. The ambient light around was from the moon itself, while everything was pitch black.

I didn't get to photograph that moment because my friends we're so keen on looking for the turtles. We wandered off quite a distance away, about more then 2-3 kilometers. Very far off from where we stayed. And it was so dark that if they left me there, I would be paranoid and start thinking about spirits or "pontianaks". After they we're satisfied and gave up looking for turtles, we went back. And I told them I wanted to get a picture. By the time we had arrive to that specific location it was very late but the moon had risen and changed it characteristics in terms of light and colour. It was quite bright, like a huge production light blasting on the scene, just like in the movies. The mood was pretty surreal.

It took me a while to get the exposure calculated. While the shutter was flipped open, we talked all night until it was around two or nearly three midnight.
